Last Saturday, on March 29th, the annual marathon took place for the 12th time in Freiburg, Germany. It was my second time photographing the event.
11.137 runners from 34 nations participated despite rainy and windy weather.
Here are some moments from the day, beginning with a photo that got published in the Guardian.
The old city of Freiburg gave me narrow perspectives like this one.
Runners passing through the wet streets of Freiburg’s old city.
Some runners descended directly from Ancient Greece.
Others were running beer bottles.
And some were on their way to the jazz club.
A Scottish kilt is certainly very comfortable for running.
Drinking water while running requires skills like this.
And the supporters where “phenomenal”.
