FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Titisee-Neustadt 2015

Ski jumping was a whole new world for me. It was actually the first major winter sports event I covered. It was intense. It was cold. But it offered a number of different perspectives for capturing the action and the atmosphere during the weekend. It was also great spending some time outdoors in the Blackforest mountain.

I tried to implement various technics used by renowned photographers. Big thanks to Philipp Schmidli for his tipps! Make sure to check out his amazing sports photography at http://www.philippschmidli.com/sport/ .

So, here are some impressions from the weekend.

Faces of the FIFA World Cup 2014

In the summer of 2014 I was not live at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, but I followed the tournament, broadcasted in the land of the FIFA World Cup champions, Germany, since I live in Freiburg, in the south-west part of the country. Thousands of fans watched their national teams on huge screens at large public areas and experienced the world’s biggest soccer event as if they were in the stadiums. Assigned by the regional newspaper Badische Zeitung, I had the opportunity to regularly capture some of the more colorful and emotional faces of those fans.
